Canberra. We're leaving you tomorrow for a long time and making a commitment of a kind to somewhere exciting, sophisticated and exotic. You have been the setting for our lives' events for two and a half decades. We have gotten to know you so well. You're not the place that outsiders think you are. Not fusty, formal. Not the government. Not even the places most outsiders think of. When you live here, work here, have your children here, make friends here, live tragedies here, you get to know a different place. Warm, accepting, tolerant, comfortable.
We'll be back for sure and probably we'll see you differently. Appreciate your space, your harshness, your seasons, your familiarity. But for now, new experiences. Hong Kong.
